Clubs
WhatTheyAre
The main clubs were originally created by Horseland. These clubs are there to bring together people who breed the same breeds or same types of horses/dogs on Horseland. Some clubs are breed specific others are
discipline specific (eg arabian club & Dressage club). The clubs can do different things as outlined below. Players take it in turns to be president by being voted in by other players (see below for more details). Each presidential term lasts from the first of each month (at 3am HL time) to the 3am on the 1st of the following month. so exactly one month.

WhatTheyDo
Something which is often not realised is that club accounts are actually premi accounts except that they don't have stables which is why they can't own or board horses (so don't message a club asking it to buy your horse because it can't!). BUT they can vote which is often not realised! Other things that clubs can do are:

  • Registry see here for more details
  • Contests - There are normally 2 main contests held by clubs each month these are the Mascot and Club Card contests. Mascots are normally required to be 10k+ in points (often much much more) as well as being pure with no OB lines etc. There are often a seperate mare and stallion mascots for clubs this though depends on the president and the club. Club cards should be fairly small, and be catchy and effective so when placed on club member's pages others will be attracted to go look at the club. The prize you set will vary, they can be as much as $20mil for first to an advised minimum of $100k. TAKE NOTE the standard of picture making required for this contest is normally quite high. NOTE any prizes are paid by the prezzi personally. The only thing club money can ever be used for is to create shows.
  • Stud List - The club prezzi will generally also have a stud list of stallions which are pure and non OB listed on the club page. There is generally also a ruling that they should be 10k+ points wise. Read the rules before submitting you stallion.
  • Shows - Clubs have the ability to run shows which offer double points. A lot of presidents will set the entry fee at $0 whereas some charge the $20 or somewhere in between. Personally because club money can do nothing but be used to create shows and because the club receives more from the bank weekly than it costs to set up a show there is no reason whatsoever for a club to set the entry fee above $0. (note there will always be $10 tax though!) Although these shows as said offer double points it is actually harder to get placed in them as they are generally very crowded.

WhoCanBePresident
Any premium player can be president.
If you want to run for president you need to add your name to the 'ballot' of the appropriate club. Just go to the bottom of the club page enter a message and click the button. The page will then load adding your name to the ballot. Basic players can not be president.

WhoCanVote&How
To vote for a player you MUST BE A PREMIUM PLAYER there is no ifs and buts this is absolutly essential if you are a basic player (eg you have not paid the upgrade fee so you don't have your own stables etc) then you CANNOT vote!

NOTE: there is no limit to the amount of times in total you can vote but the main rule is that you can only vote once per person per club per month. This means you could vote for every person running in every club each month if you so wished. But as said vitially you can only vote once per person per club per month. If you try to vote a second time it will bring up a message at the top of the page saying 'sorry you have already voted on this ballot'

To vote you need to go to the appropriate club and join if necessary if you need to join (which is free) then you will see a 'join this club' button. (see image below)

Once you have joined the club you will need to vote. To do so go to the voting booth which you can find just below the 'Bulletin Board'. At the voting booth you will need to find the person you are voting for. They could be anywhere on ballot so you may need to look closely to find them. Once you have you should press their individual 'Vote YES' button (see image below) then once the page has reloaded take note of the numer next to the 'Vote YES' button. If you are being paid in anyway for your vote you will need to give the player this number so they can be sure you have voted.

Trading&BuyingVotes
The majority of the time players will offer various methods of payment in exchange for you voting for them. One of the most common is 'TVing' (see below section for explanation)

If you are not running in a club they may offer you money, training, horses etc in way of payment.

The most common is money. You can expect to receive between $5000- $5million for a vote depending on the person and the time of the month (you will get more in the last day or so of the month!) The normal method of payment is that you will vote put a money horse up for sale at the agreed price send the person you voted for a message containing your vote number (eg their new vote total once you have voted) and your money horse number. They should then buy your money horse. (note this may not be immediate as they may not be online at the time you vote. Normally give players at least 24hrs to buy the horse if it is longer make sure they have actually logged in since you sent the message (note bottom of their page which will give their last login) and if they stil haven't send a reminder.) Now the majority of the time players will pay you. Every so often though there are a rare few players who won't pay take note of their names and numbers and never vote for them again. I have a nice list now including some so called 'decent players' who even with several reminders have not paid. I now make note to vote for all their main opponents.

You can also sometimes receive training tickets or training or even a horse in exchange for your votes. It could be 5 training tickets per vote or 100-300 classes on a horse. Whatever it is will be a case of you agreeing with the player you are voting for. Make sure you agree BEFORE you vote. Again you will receive payment after you vote. VERY FEW players will agree to pay you in advance but don't let this put you off the majority will pay.

NOTE: if you are uncertain as to whether a player will pay ask for references. most players will happily give numbers of several players they have paid without problems who you can contact to confirm that they were paid.

TVing - This is where you vote for a player in a club then they vote for you in return in the club which you are running in. For this to work obviously you need to be running in a club as well. Its that simple! If you are asked to TV with someone it is normal for you to vote for them then send them what vote number you were as well as reminding them to vote for you. A good standard message to send would be 'vote #46. and me in andy? thanks and good luck. :o)'

Registry
You can submit your horse to any of the clubs for acceptance on to the club registry. If your horse is accepted then next to the horses picture a list of the clubs it is registered to will appear. You MUST THINK BEFORE YOU SUBMIT YOUR HORSE to just any old club. Every club will have rules for its registry for example if its the Hanoverian club then only Hanoverians will be accepted on to the registry, as well of this there are often age/point restrictions eg must be between 3 and 21 and have over 1k points. If you don't agree with the registry rules of a particular president then basically tough as by shouting at them which many people do via messages you will make the prezzi more adament to keep those rules in place. You should just wait until the next month when a new prezzi is in charge and hope the restrictions have been changed. If they haven't its most likely because simply your horse needs more training. Another major restriction is generally no OB, IB etc lines now if your horse has any of these then don't be surprised if it is rejected as I have explained elsewhere in this guide you do not want horses with these sorts of lines. So remember before submitting READ THE REGISTY RULES ON THE CLUB PAGE.

NonOfficialHLClubs
You may have noticed that as well as all the 'official' HL horse and dog clubs that are run by HL there are also a range of other clubs set up by players on normal accounts that cover all manner of subjects. There are numerous ones regarding breeds, graphics, player groups etc, you will even find clubs for people who love certain bands or films!! Most have very small membership but the larger clubs often have several hundred members. Different clubs offer different things, some are simply a get together place, others will hold contests with prizes, others offer services, you name of it its probably there! I wont even start to try listing the different clubs you can find as well there are literally easily hundreds about!
