26th December 2005 - Breeding Scam
Well alot of people over the last few days have fallen victim to the breeding scam. HL will be working on the problem as I type (most likely cause of occasional downtime today) so until that time you can do one simple step to protect your mares and your money. This is simply put all your mares up for BID ONLY. Whilst mares are for bid they cannot be bred, and if on bid only then no one can buy them without your permission.

Just so you understand what the scam is. people are breeding mares who don't belong to them without the permission of the mare's owner who is gaining an often cross bred foal out of a 0 pointed store stallion and are paying up to $100mil stud fee. the above mentioned method is the ONLY way of protecting your mares and money. Also please note as there are now over 300 pages worth of horses created solely by this scam it is doubtful that HL will be able to rectify the situation to the position everyone was at before the scam started.

Although the workings of the scam is very simple and anyone can do it. Any accounts shown to be involved are in the process of being banned.

If you have been affected by the scam send a message to brescia on account 1516169 who is compling a list of effected players.

As you will have seen we are now directly linked. Bandwidth is still doing well (thanks to the simplicity of the site!) but the hits are rolling in! over 10,000 in under 24 hours! :D

I have updated a few bits here and there on suggestion from various players. Please keep them coming. I have been told that a few sections are a bit outdated which they may well be as the guide was originally created several years ago and the game has somewhat changed since then. If you find any of these sections (I have tried my best to keep everything updated though!) please contact me so that I can update them.

You will note that on the front page on the bottom there is a statement regarding the use of the word 'Horseland' that is because the site is (or will very soon be) linked directly from Horseland.com. This is fabulous news for this site as it means the acknowledgement of all the hard work and time taken to create this site.

As I am currently enjoying some time off this christmas I hope to expand further with the guide. I will finish off the A-Z guide of the site and do a few other bits here and there.

With the introduction of a direct link I am suspecting that my current 'bandwidth' restrictions (eg how often my site can be viewed) will be exceeded. I will increase my limits where necessary but I wish to see just what the usesage levels are going to be so there may be short periods of downtime over the next month which I apologise for in advance.
